C.A.S.T. to Receive Support from Disabled American Veterans (DAV).

ImageThe C.A.S.T. For Kids Foundation is pleased to announce it has been selected to received a grant from Disabled American Veterans.  Funds will support the Take A Warrior Fishing program at Joint Base Lewis-McChord and enable C.A.S.T. to continue our purpose of providing disabled, disadvantaged and at-risk populations the opportunity to enjoy a quality outdoor experience.

Take A Warrior Fishing events are designed to support military personnel and their families, specifically targeting persons assigned to Warrior Transition Commands, by creating an adaptive community-based outdoor, recreation experience through the sport of fishing.  The main goals of this program are to restore that disconnect by increasing family interaction, encouraging outdoor recreation, and supporting positive, social interactions that help transitioning service members rebuild connections with the civilian world.

Disabled American Veterans (DAV) is a non-profit 501(c)(4) charity dedicated to building better lives for America’s disabled veterans and their families though advocacy, benefit claims assistance and support services. www.dav.org
